The company was founded as Central Otago Wine Tours by Philip Green, who has a WSET Diploma of Wine, and Wendy Johnston in 1999. The name change occurred in 2005. Their major focus is day tours in the Central Otago wine region. Specialty day tours involving nature walks, golf, rail travel or helicopter transport are also available.
Grape Escape is based in Napier, Hawkes Bay and is owned and operated by Greg Beachen who has worked for many years in the wine and tourism industry in New Zealand and the UK. He specializes in a variety of guided day wine tours of Hawke’s Bay including a helicopter option, and multi day guided food and wine trips throughout New Zealand ranging from 2 to 12 days. Self-guided tours can also be arranged.
